Boat Wreck
I spent some time scanning the coastline around Southampton and Portsmouth using the satellite view on what3words.com, looking for shipwrecks. After a bit of searching, I finally spotted one near the Millennium Bridge in Gosport at https://what3words.com/cheeks.fired.still. I also used the Photopills app to find the perfect sun position and checked the weather for a good day to shoot. A Friday evening looked ideal, so I headed down to Gosport.
At first, I focused on one boat that I thought would be my main subject, but after shooting a few frames, I ended up choosing another boat just to the left. There were so many cool options in the area - definitely planning to return and capture the rest.
Below are a few options I considered for the final shot, including an Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) image that I really liked. It just didn't quite have the same vibe as the one I ended up with.
During post-production, I played around with different effects, including black & white (which is usually my go-to), but for this one, the colors were so vibrant that it felt wrong to lose them, so I stuck with the color version.
